CHAPTER 3: A PASSION FOR BUSINESS

My startup project was born from the desire to provide the community with high-quality, non-GMO, and health-friendly tofu. The main ingredient, soybeans, is certified by the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) for human health safety. With a mission to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles and balanced diets, we not only offer quality food but also incorporate traditional recipes from ethnic minorities as a means to promote social development and showcase Vietnamese culture through international culinary events.

Our product line is diverse and suitable for all ages, with flavors like Passion Fruit for younger consumers, Jasmine for middle-aged individuals, and Coconut for older adults. Additionally, I collaborated with nutrition expert Dr. Dao Thi Yen Phi to research and develop a pandan leaf flavor—unique to the Nung ethnic group in Northwest Vietnam—adding cultural richness to our products.

Each month, we bring around 2,400 products to market. Notably, 85% of profits are donated to Hoa Binh Pagoda in Ta Phoi commune, Dien Bien province, to support restoration and provide assistance for 2,500 local residents. We have also partnered with the five-star Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel and Omni Cafe to include An Tofu Hanoi products in their dessert menus, generating significant revenue through these collaborations.

While developing the project, I had the chance to connect with USSEC members at Singapore’s National Day celebration, where I introduced our tofu products to international guests and U.S. diplomats, who responded with praise. This experience brought pride and motivated me to continue expanding, bringing the flavors of Vietnam closer to the world.

Internship At A An Rice Company
During my internship at A-An Company, a reputable rice brand in Vietnam specializing in high-quality rice products for both domestic and international markets, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into finance. I received thorough training on various financial categories in the company’s 2023 financial report, supported data collection and verification from the Sales Department to assist accountants in preparing expense vouchers, and participated in drafting reports for nine meetings between the Finance and Sales Departments concerning revenue for June and July 2023. This internship provided me with valuable practical skills and a deeper understanding of financial processes and operations within a business.
